UCLA Health cancer care once again named one of nation’s best in annual assessment
Led by Director Dr. Michael Teitell, the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center has been recognized as one of the best places in the U.S. for cancer care for the 24th consecutive year. The U.S. News & World Report's 2023-2024 rankings named it the top cancer center in California and the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and fourth in the nation for hospital cancer care. UCLA Health, including the cancer center, also secured the #1 spot in California and Los Angeles in the broader best hospitals assessment, marking the 34th consecutive year on the national honor roll.
The evaluation emphasizes factors such as clinical outcomes, nursing care, and patient experience. The Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center holds the National Cancer Institute's "comprehensive" designation, indicating excellence in cancer prevention, community outreach, survivorship studies, and high-quality research. Notably, UCLA researchers have developed numerous successful cancer therapies, leading to 21 FDA-approved treatments since 2003. The center's commitment to advancing impactful research and providing outstanding care contributes to its consistent recognition and prestigious awards.
